L’AHK-Cu 50mg(Alanyl-L-Histidyl-L-Lysine Copper) is a copper tripeptide, structurally related to GHK-Cu. While GHK-Cu is primarily studied for its effects on the skin, AHK-Cu is the most well-documented copper peptide for thevascularization of the hair follicle and hair growthCopper is transported there in the form of a chelated complex, a cofactor of key enzymes in tissue repair.
Molecular mechanism of action
AHK-Cu acts via several pathways: (1)VEGF stimulation— induction of vascular endothelial growth factor, promoting perifollicular angiogenesis and irrigation of the hair bulb; (2)prolongation of the anagen phase— support of the dermal papilla and keratinocyte proliferation, associated with a lengthening of the hair growth phase; (3)copper transport— cofactor of lysyl oxidase, an enzyme involved in the cross-linking of collagen and elastin; (4)collagen synthesis— stimulation of fibroblasts and collagen production (types I and III).
Documented search applications
- Hair follicles: stimulation of hair growth, increased hair density and diameter, prolongation of the anagen phase (in vitro studies and preclinical models)
- Scalp vascularization: induction of VEGF and perifollicular angiogenesis, improvement of blood supply to the bulb
- Skin and dermis: stimulation of collagen and elastin synthesis, skin firmness and elasticity
- Healing: support for angiogenesis and tissue repair
- SynergyFrequently studied in combination with GHK-Cu to combine skin regeneration and hair growth effects

Reconstitution and storage
Reconstitute with sterile or bacteriostatic water. The reconstituted solution (recommended concentration: 5–10 mg/mL) is stable for approximately 4 weeks at +4°C, protected from light. The lyophilized powder can be stored for up to 24 months at -20°C. Like all copper peptides, AHK-Cu is susceptible to oxidation—avoid prolonged contact with air after reconstitution.
