It is a stabilized analog of thetuftsineSelank is an endogenous immunomodulatory tetrapeptide to which a stabilizing sequence has been added to prolong its half-life. It is among the most studied peptides for research on anxiety, memory, and neuroprotection, without the sedative effects or potential for addiction associated with conventional anxiolytics.
Molecular mechanism of action
