Le DSIP 5mg (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a neuromodulatory nonapeptide isolated in 1977 by Schoenenberger and Monnier at the University of Basel from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits placed in slow-wave sleep. Low molecular weight and amphiphilic, it crosses the blood-brain barrier and acts as an endogenous regulatory peptide. It is among the most studied peptides for research on sleep architecture, the stress response, and neuroendocrine modulation.
Molecular mechanism of action
DSIP does not act like a sedative: it intervenes asmodulatorof several regulatory systems, via complementary channels. (1)Slow-wave sleep— modulation of thalamocortical activity associated with delta waves, without central nervous system depression. (2)HPA axis regulation— attenuation of CRH and ACTH release, with a corollary decrease in circulating corticosterone in stress models. (3)Antinociception— potentiation of the endogenous opioid system (met-enkephalin), analgesic effects documented in animal models. (4)Neuroendocrine modulation— influence on GH and LH secretion, interaction with somatostatin. (5)Antioxidant action— reduction of oxidative stress and stabilization of cell membranes.

5mg format — For whom?
The 5mg format corresponds to the reference packaging of DSIP in the research literature. Reconstituted with1 mL of bacteriostatic water delivers a concentration of 5 mg/mL; with 2 mL, a concentration of 2.5 mg/mL allows for finer fractionation of samples. This format covers short to medium protocols without exposing the lyophilized powder to unnecessary handling cycles.
Reconstitution & Storage
Reconstitute with sterile or bacteriostatic water (recommended concentration: 2.5–5 mg/mL). Inject the solvent along the side of the vial, without vigorous shaking: DSIP is sensitive to mechanical shear. The reconstituted solution is stable for 4 weeks at +4°C, protected from light. The unreconstituted lyophilized powder can be stored for up to 24 months at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles and prolonged contact with air after reconstitution.
